The big day is Sunday April 9th, 2017 @ The Prestigious El Portal Theatre
I saw a breakdown posted by Director Amanda Lee of Miss NoHo Productions in Backstage West for this pageant. I\’ve never ever thought of myself as a beauty queen ever, then thought to myself, \”WHY NOT? YOU WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU TRY\” – so I pressed the APPLY button. A couple days later I logged into my Backstage account and saw 1 message in your inbox. When I saw that it was from Amanda from the pageant I was a bit apprehensive with accepting the audition.
When I arrived at the Debbie Reynold\’s Dance School in North Hollywood, it was about 2 weeks after she and her daughter, Carrie Fisher had passed away. There was a sign for one of the parking spaces close to the front door: \’This space is for Debbie Reynold\’s\’
I was lucky to have been a guest of my friend Marty Chin to see Debbie Reynold\’s in her one woman show a few years back at the El Portal Theatre. Debbie was fantastik! During intermission the news came out that Eddie Fisher had passed away that day. . .but you\’d never know by Debbie\’s incredible performance. I was truly blown away by her talents. . . and met her after her performance and get an autograph. What a thrill!!
What a difference hair color makes!! I am a natural brunette. . .thou have loved highlights in my hair since I was 12 years old. (That\’s another story for later) Also, my birth name is Carrie, just like Debbie\’s daughter. I have an older sister named Debbie. . .but no one named Eddie or Edward in the family.
